Mitigating Food Storage Transportation Disruptions

From farm to fork — listen closely, that’s the FAO at work! Established on February 1st, 1945, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is well-known for its global efforts to end world hunger and improve food security and nutrition. The FAO works to address critical issues such as funding and resource constraints, geopolitical instability, natural resource management, and food storage disruptions. Composed of 195 member countries, the FAO’s global message is to promote food-related agriculture-related goals to solve urgent matters of hunger and farming instability. Throughout a series of dynamic debates, the seeds of the FAO will plant innovative methods of agriculture and collaborate on solutions that feed the community’s collaboration, strengthen its ability to confront modern challenges, and cultivate creative answers for global hunger. With that being said, we cannot wait to see how you take the FAO from the farm to the fork at EASTMUN 2026, as delegates work to transform debate into actionable solutions that will nourish communities and sustain agricultural systems worldwide.

Positions

DIRECTOR
Mihika Oruganti

Mihika Oruganti is an IB (intensely back-broken) sophomore at Interlake High School and delighted to be your Director for the Food and Agriculture Organization at EASTMUN 2026! Mihika has come a long way from her first conference in 2023, and has formed many memories that have carved their way into her heart. When she’s not reading a book, Mihika can be found staring at her physics notebook, attempting to order anything but hot chocolate at Starbucks (and still ending up with it), or sleeping. Mihika is eager to meet delegates and watch them grow at EASTMUN 2026!

CHAIR
Madeleine Vincelli

Madeleine Vincelli is a junior at Newport High School and is delighted to serve as your Chair at the Food and Agriculture Organization at EASTMUN 2026! Inspired by the infamous TV show Never Have I Ever during her freshman year, a shy Madeleine gave MUN a chance — only to be immediately sucked into the MUNverse of extraordinary debate, chaotic crisis directives, and solving real-world problems. Soon after receiving her first MUN pen, she knew that it was destined to be! Outside of MUN, Madeleine can be found dancing at her ballet studio, studying for school, or working to perfect a flawless matcha latte! Madeleine cannot wait to see the engaging debate and enthusiasm of delegates at EASTMUN 2026!!

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Mia Chang

Mia Chang is a junior at Inglemoor High School and is beyond excited to serve as your Assistant Director for the Food and Agriculture Organization at EverMUN 2026! Since attending her first conference her freshman year, Mia has learned to raise her placard unhesitantly – finding a voice and passion for Model United Nations. When not immersed in MUN duties or prepping for conferences, Mia can be found writing for her school newspaper, working at her job, playing with and taking extensive naps with her dogs Rocky and Truffle, stressing about her IB coursework, or experimenting with making drinks. She hopes to help delegates at EVERMUN 2026 make lifelong memories and deepen their love for MUN like she has over the years. Above all, she can’t wait to meet all the delegates who will bring the FAO to life!
