Addressing the Impact of Cryptocurrency in International Trade
Established in 1995, the World Trade Organization transformed the post-WWII General Agreement of Tariffs and Trade into a legal institution that crosses geographic boundaries to oversee global trade. The WTO is the only international organization responsible for creating and maintaining the legal framework and set of rules that govern global trade. Despite new questions emerging from rapid technological advancements and nationalized economies, the WTO remains prominent. Facilitating smooth and transparent exchange of goods, services, and intellectual property, preventing trade disputes, and monitoring national trade policies uphold the roots of this organization. Delegates at EASTMUN 2026 will have the opportunity to stay true to the mission of this committee as they collaborate to confront [topic]. We are eager to see the passion and talent each one of you brings to the table as WTO navigates through the murky waters of trade!

DIRECTOR
Zihan He
Zihan He is a junior at Skyline High School and is ecstatic to be serving as your Director for WTO at EASTMUN 2026! Going on four years as a MUNer, Zihan has previously been dubbed a “country connoisseur” and is responsible for most occurrences of UN memes in the committees they have staffed. From being framed for burning down Santa’s Workshop at PACMUN 2023 to debating whether or not to use manga as a form of public education for the UN at KINGMUN 2024 to being emotionally obliterated by UN-abolishing delegates at PACMUN 2025, Zihan has many fond MUNmories. When not engaged in the world of MUN, they enjoy infodumping about the real-life UN (for example, the blue on the UN flag can be pinpointed down to a specific Pantone color code (PMS 2925 C)) and writing. Zihan is excited to meet all of you in WTO and hope that you all will have a great committee experience.

Ioana Luican
Ioana is a sophomore at Eastlake High School and is incredibly excited to be the Chair for WTO at EASTMUN 2026! Ever since her first conference at EASTMUN 2022 as a scared 6th grader, Ioana has been in love with the fast-paced world of MUN and all it has to offer! Each conference brings new adventures, but Ioana’s favorite MUN memory has to be witnessing a love triangle between Captain America, Iron Man, and Hulk! Ioana knows she will always learn something new and have a great time during MUN. When she’s not in the committee room, Ioana can be found putting in the hours at her dance studio, waking up at 5am for swim practice, watching 2010s romcoms, or talking about sea creatures to anyone who will listen. Ioana cannot wait to connect with all the delegates, and is counting down the days until EASTMUN 2026!

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Vanshika Kalluri
Vanshika Kalluri is a sophomore at North Creek High School and is elated to serve as your one and only WTO Assistant Director at SeattleMUN 2026! As a confused freshman, she was brought into the world of MUN by a friend, and ever since then, she’s fallen more and more in love with all that it has to offer. Conference after conference, MUN has given her memories that she’ll cherish forever. When she’s not writing a last-minute position paper or running to the nearest Starbucks at conferences, you can find her with headphones in blasting LE SSERAFIM, shopping with her family, playing crazy amounts of Sudoku, or taking a long nap after school. With that, Vanshika is excited to meet new delegates and eat it up in WTO at EASTMUN 2026!
